Seminar WS 2015/16

Welcome to the seminar "ChemoInformatics"!

When?: Tuesday 8:15 - 9:45
Where?: CZ3, Room 129
Who: Wolfgang Weigand, PeterDittrich

In this seminar we will study computation approaches that help to understand, model, predict and design complex chemical systems at a large scale. In particular we will look at

  • How to explain complex dynamical patterns like oscillations and replication spots.
  • How to handle and simulate large reaction networks
  • How to deal with a combinatorially complex chemical system
  • How to make a chemical system compute and process information
  • How to make and simulate a self-replicating chemical system.
  • How to formulate precisely a large scale model.

Additionally we can study methods like we did during our last systems chemistry summer school:

In the seminar you will

  • obtain an overview of chemoinformatics methods (Week 2 and Week 3)
  • give a talk on a particular personal approach based on recent scientific publications (and listen to talks by other students)
  • obtain some practical experience (e.g., applying some selected methods)
  • practice scientific writing by documenting your contribution (approx. 5 pages)

The number of participants is limited, so please register as soon as possible.

Please contact the organizers for further details.

Sprache / Language

  • If necessary, the seminar will be held in English. That is, by default the language will be English. However if all participants speak German the presentations should be in German as well.

Talks will be in English or German according to the title’s language.

When and where? Tuesday, 8:15 – 10:45, Room 1.29, CZ3
